New fire classification Bfl s1 for FLOORTOP 1K determination of fire behavior using a radiant heat source. The painting system with FLOORTOP 1K has just obtained the fire classification Bfl s1, this classification consists of two tests:
The first test method determines the flammability of the construction product by direct application of a small flame, with zero radiation and using samples tested in vertical orientation.
Second, method to evaluate the behavior against fire and propagation of the horizontal flame in the opposite direction to the wind of covering floors exposed to a gradient of radiant heat flow in a test chamber, when burned with a pilot flame during a 30 minute period.
This solution is designed to offer Krypton Chemical systems greater resistance to degradation by UV radiation, its aliphatic polyurethane nature ensures color stability and offers greater resistance to wear.
Case study of the month: Roof waterproofing of a pharmaceutical factory in Egypt
The cover, with a mortar support, showed many infiltrations.
To solve the problem, an inexpensive and simple solution was applied in two simple stages. Primer Epoxy 100 and Impermax Polyurea H Flex membrane (aluminum color).
This special color is maintained over time and it is possible to avoid the aliphatic protective topcoat. Impermax Polyurea H Flex with a great ability to bridge cracks in the substrate (static class A5 and dynamic class B.4.2) presents an ETA certificate, a Broof(t2) class exterior fire behavior certificate and a hail resistance test, among others.
The photos show the difficulty of treating this roof, due to the large amount of equipment installed on top of it. In these extreme conditions, the applicator and the owner appreciated the simple and fast execution in two simple stages and with a 100% solvent-free system.
The end of the year is coming and with it the planning of the refurbishment of Industrial flooring, for this reason Krypton Chemical offers solutions focused on two technologies; POLIASPARTICS and EPOXYS, which can be applied in different systems, painted, multilayer or self-leveling.

Krypton Chemical launches its new waterproofing membrane RAYSTON FIRE E
Rayston Fire E is a two-component resin based on a pure polyurea, applied with a 1:1 ratio by volume hot spray machine. Once cured, it forms an elastomeric coating, with great ability to bridge possible cracks in the support. It has a high resistance to fire and in case of fire the coating does not help to expand it.
Certificate of reaction to fire: Euroclass: Bs2d0.
The coating is specially designed for the protection and waterproofing of structures where excellent fire resistance is required: tunnels, stadium bleachers …
Case study of the month: Waterproofing of the Mercat de Sant Ildefons (Barcelona)
The removal of the old waterproofing membrane (asphalt fabric with a slate finish) was not considered necessary, in this way dismantling, transportation and disposal costs were saved in a controlled landfill for this material. At the same time, the useful life of the sheet was extended, exercising an important function: as a temporary waterproofing agent during the renovation works and as a vapor barrier for the new applied system.
This support was regularized with RAYSTON PRIMER PU 150 high-density, high-resistance foam. Also increasing the thermal and acoustic insulation of the roof.
The elastomeric polyurea membrane POLYUREA RAYSTON was then applied with a COLODUR PIGMENTED topcoat.
The system with Polyurea Rayston X5 with topcoat Impermax A has just obtained the Broof(t1) certificate of behavior to an outdoor fire. This system also has an asbestos encapsulation certificate.
Polyurea Rayston X5 is an expandable polyurea that, when it cures, forms a totally continuous coating, adhered to the support, waterproof, highly resistant, elastic and flexible, that is, with an excellent ability to bridge possible cracks in the support.
This solution is designed to solve waterproofing problems at a much lower cost compared to standard polyurea systems (see table). This allows them to gain in waterproofing quality and compete in price with traditional systems based on asphalt fabrics.
Impermax B 1K is a one-component polyurethane-bitumen resin, with high thixotropy and excellent mechanical properties.
It is specially designed for the execution of difficult details and finishes in waterproofing projects with asphalt fabric and other membranes, guaranteeing the continuity and tightness of the system.
It has a high adherence to different types of supports, especially to asphalt fabric (bitumen finish).

Antibacterial Flooring
Microorganisms are present in our environment naturally, although most are harmless or even beneficial, some of them are dangerous to health.
The inclusion of the biocide inside the material represents a paradigm shift in which the hygiene of the material is not forced from the outside but is constantly actively maintained by the product itself, which substantially increases the hygienic levels of the environment.
Case study of the month: Bridge deck over the M-40, Madrid
This month of August were completed the waterproofing of the bridge deck and the extension of the asphalt tread layer on the new M-40 highway bridge, near Madrid.
The waterproofing system described in ETA certificate number 16/149 of Impermax Polyurea H Flex was applied.
This was a huge work, and to increase productivity and also the quality of execution, the polyurea was applied with the help of the new RAYSTON SPRAY ROBOT, optimized by the technical application team of Krypton Chemical.
1. State of the concrete support.
2. Appearance after applying the primer and sprinkle dry aggregate over it.
3. Polyurea application with the Rayston Spray Robot.
4. Appearance of the waterproofing membrane, totally continuous, without joints or overlaps, or pores.
5. Application of the protective and adhesion layer of the asphalt. Resin plus dusting of aggregate in fresh.
6. Asphalting over Impermax Polyurea H Flex waterproofing system.
The arrival of good weather drives the rehabilitation and reconditioning of sports facilities, whether indoors or outdoors.
This type of facility usually has a multipurpose surface in which various collective sports are practiced, normally defined by lines and colored areas of different shades.
This type of installation requires a high resistance to abrasion, that is non-slip and UV resistant.
Therefore Krypton Chemical is committed to a solution consisting of an epoxy primer base, selected aggregates and a water-based polyurethane seal, which offers UV resistance and stability and great resistance to wear.
Case study of the month Waterproofing of a drinking water tank in a luxury hotel in Spain
Polyurea Rayston is a pure resin of pure Polyurea that has a CE marking certificate according to EN-1504-2 for the surface protection of concrete.
This membrane has an excellent ability to bridge over the cracks in the support (class A5 static and B.4.2 dynamic, the maximum possible). It is also certified for a continuous contact with drinking water according to WRAS (United Kingdom), the Italian D.M. 6 Aprile 2.004 and the European 98/83/CE equivalent to Spanish RD 140/2.003.
The application of polyurea coating with the help of a robot is becoming more frequent, especially in roofswide open areas, where a robot can advance thousands of meters without encountering any obstacle.
The advantages of applying a polyurea with a robot are greater productivity and higher quality of execution (more homogeneous thickness and adjusted to the project requirements). The robot does not get tired and is just as efficient early in the morning and late in the afternoon, after a long working day, either in hot or cold weather.
Some savings in application costs are evident (derived from higher productivity), others, for example, can be achieved thanks to automation and electronic controls on the equipment, so polyurea overconsumption may be avoided.
Krypton Chemical offers to his clients technical advice, even on site, to help them implement this new technology of the 21st century.
Polyurea H SL Mechanized systems with high performance and high productivity
Polyurea H SL is a two component modified polyurea resin that is hot spray applied.
Although it is a fast curing product, it is slightly slower and therefore more self-leveling than other hot-applied polyureas and polyurethanes. This results in a continuous, resilient pavement with a smooth or textured finish obtained by applying quartz and sealing it off with a Kryptanate, fast-curing polystyrene paint, thereby achieving a non-slip surface.
POLYUREA H SL – Advantages:
This Polyurea H SL has been designed for self-leveling floors, creating a slower curing product respecting the times of a fast curing material, for an excellent finish.
Fast execution that allows applying up to 800 m2/day.
Excellent commissioning times,
Very good resistance to ultraviolet radiation (offers color change if not protected with an aliphatic topcoat),
Waterproof and non-porous,
Possibility of making a non-slip floor,
High adherence to multiple substrates,
Resistant to abrasion, impact and wear (consult FT),
Wide range of colors.
POLYUREA H SL – Application´s examples:
Is used as a basecoat for self-leveling systems, the system consists of a first coat of epoxy primer 100, after 6-8 h depending on environmental conditions, application of 2 kg/m2 of optional Polyurea H SL powder of added to achieve a rough surface, after 4 h we will proceed to seal the system using an aliphatic top layer type (Kryptanate).
In interior areas with poor ventilation, we recommend the use of BLM 4800 Portable Master Extractor air extraction mechanisms. Fields of application, we will use the system in residential pavements, parking lots, industrial applications, warehouses, commercial areas, restaurants.
Case study of the week Waterproofing of the entrance courtyard of a single-family house with a decorative quartz-color finish
Project located in Portugal, carried out with the help and technical support of Globalpur (distributor of Krypton Chemical for Portugal).
In this case, the new single-component, fast-curing, high-performance polyurethane membrane, reference Impermax SF, was applied. This resin is totally free of solvents (no odor), that makes the application, transport (not ADR) and storage (non-flammable) easier.
High performance and high productivity hot spray flooring systems
POLYUREA H SL – FAST CURING SELF LEVELLING SPRAY SYSTEM
POLYUREA H SL is a bicomponent modified polyurea resin that is applied by hot spraying. Even being a fast-curing product, it is slightly slower and therefore more levelling than other polyureas and hot spray-applied polyurethanes. This results in a continuous, elastic flooring system with either a smooth or a textured anti-skid topcoat. The latter can be achieved by broadcasting quartz sand to saturation onto the fresh product, and sealing the surface with a fast-curing polyaspartic coating like Kryptanate 100 or 100 LV.
POLYUREA H SL has been designed for the application of self-levelling floor coatings, with a shorter curing time that still provides excellent, smooth looking finish.
POLYUREA H SL – ADVANTAGES
Fast execution allows to apply up to 800 m2 per day.
Shorter cycle times minimise time and space occupation at job sites.
Waterproof and non-porous Possibility of making a non-slip floor by simple sand broad- cast.
Good adhesion to multiple substrates.
Resistant to abrasion, impact and wear (see TDS).
Wide range of colors available
Contains raw materials from renewable sources.
