There are several solutions that efficiently combine a waterproofing membrane applied in liquid form with the improvement of thermal and acoustic insulation.
In inverted roofs (always flat), the XPS insulating panels are placed on top of the waterproofing membrane, which also acts as a vapor barrier. If the roof is to be visited, these panels can be replaced by draining slabs of the filter slab (see photo).
In the IMPERMAX STRAT system (common in northern Europe), designed to withstand pedestrian traffic above it, a carrier (Rayston Vel or Rayston Vel Plus) separates the PIR insulating panels from the waterproofing membrane, which is exposed.
The IMPERMAX FOAM system reduces the risk of thermal bridges, and optimizes productivity at the time of application, by using a totally continuous polyurethane foam, which is finally protected with a waterproofing membrane.
What would be the world without colors?
Today we want to present our RAYSTON RCB-581-A aliphatic polyurethane resin to agglomerate EPDM, creating incredible designs for rubber flooring in playgrounds, entrances or pool beaches.
The system consists of applying a layer of TP FLEX RAYSTON PRIMER, followed by a thick layer of Rubber Binder mixed with black SBR granules. This first layer of rubber is what will give the necessary thickness to provide the desired anti-impact protection. Finally, the desired designs for our playgrounds and play areas are achieved with colored EPDM granules and RAYSTON RCB-581-A Aliphatic Rubber Binder, a one-component UV resistant polyurethane resin, to provide a color intensity of the pavement for a long time.
Intense reds, bright yellows and vibrant greens. Bright colors are part of the fun of a play area and at Krypton Chemical we want this fun to last for a long time. Our aliphatic rubber binder is not only very flexible, but also resistant against UV radiation, maintaining its transparent appearance without yellowing.
And the designs? Well, as the following pictures show, our imagination is the limit!
Case study of the month: Improvement of the thermal insulation and waterproofing of a shopping center in Mallorca (Impermax Foam System)
On a metal roof, ecological polyurethane insulating foam, Rayston Spray Foam 50W, the waterproofing membrane of IMPERMAX POLYUREA H FLEX and the reflective protective finish of COLODUR type “cold ceiling” pigmented in white were applied.
In this way, in a single action, with a single totally compact system, it was possible to improve acoustic and thermal insulation, solve long-term water infiltration problems, increase the useful life of the roof and improve thermal comfort in the interior of the building.
