Green Roof in Oviedo, Spain

System used:
Rayston Proof PU SPRAY GREEN system for green roofs

In this project, the building's roof was waterproofed using a system specifically designed for landscaped or green roofs. The main goal was to provide a durable, sustainable, and thermally and acoustically efficient solution, while also contributing to the environmental improvement of the urban surroundings.

The system used, Rayston Proof PU SPRAY GREEN ROOF, features root resistance certification and is composed of high-performance products that ensure complete protection of the roof against water ingress and plant growth.

How we do it:

Surface preparation
- Priming with EPOXY PRIMER, a bi-component epoxy resin with low viscosity, improving the system's adhesion to the substrate.
Continuous waterproofing
- Hot applied of IMPERMAX 2K, a liquid polyurethane membrane with a biological base and 100% solids, forming a waterproof layer without seams or overlaps.
System protection and vegetative finish
- Placement of GEOMAX MNDC geotextile for mechanical protection of the waterproofing.
- Installation of Bio Roof Drain layer, which acts as a drainage system and support for the soil and vegetation completing the “green roof” system.
